Book review of The Lost Heir( Book 1 of the Dragonath Chonicles) by Andi O’Connor

the lost heir

If you haven’t yet read this book, The Lost Heir, by Andi O’Connor, add it to your To Be Read List. This is book number one of The Dragonath Chronicles and has set the stage for more entertainment coming our way as there is at least a second book to look forward to in the series.

The worlds of Mystandia and Dragonath are places filled with beauty and wonder but, as often is the case with anything special, the challenges and problems are numerous especially when the royal head of this land is at stake. The battles for the crown and the power that it holds is raging and the subtlety of palace intrigue is not in short supply.

O’ Connor created a world where magic plays an enormous role in everyday life. There are the masters of the art with their enormous resources of power and bag full of tricks. There are also the newbies just discovering their gifts though they still do not know how to use them. Magic is used to save worlds, lives and a way of life that in some cases is dying.

As with any skill, the choice as to how to wield all that power is very personal and can be difficult and the final decisions world altering. This book explores the always intriguing good versus evil theme but, in such an original way that you will be caught up in the story.  The reader will suspend disbelief and accept the characters, their gifts, their actions and motives as a certainty.

The author has provided a story, really a maze, with so many turns and twists that keeps you guessing where it will end and makes you cry out for more.

A very enjoyable read, good plot and I am anxious to read the next one in this series very soon.

Why authors give away books!

Did you know that between 66,000 and on 1,000,000 new books are published yearly? For new authors that means a tremendous amount of competition just to get noticed. That figure does not include those books already out there from previous years publishing numbers.

For older authors with more books under their belt, the advantage is that they may have a fan base of readers but, in turn they also must promote many more books than the new author with its one of two offerings.

However, we look at it, the competition is stiff. The amount of choices a reader has are infinite. What an author does to set themselves apart from the crowd is one of the most important aspects of marketing your latest book.

There are many wonderful services out there for promoting your books so the author can just concentrate on their writing but, still someone needs to promote. A serious part of selling books is marketing them. How, we do that with help or on our own determines how many sales we can make. All marketing is not the same and many authors eventually resort to finding ways to give their books away in order to get them read. Even at minimal prices, the books do not move themselves just by being listed for sale.

With this in mind, I have decided to have a contest. I will be giving 6 paperback versions, not e-books away. There will be three copies each of It Begins and Ends with Family and Ultimate Betrayal. All you need do to enter is first go to my website and give it a like. The website is here-

Next we have a forum on the website and we wish to get it going so, please post on the forum. You need not register and may use any user named you like. Those user names will be entered into a drawing held on July 1st. you may start a new topic or post a word or two or any length post on the post under any topic.

The books can be given as a gift if you already have a copy.

The first book is It Begins and Ends with Family is a parenting book, geared for difficult teens but, also contains info for other ages. It is written by foster parents for parents. It includes anecdotes about a large family. Hints on how to schedule, and run a large household since they often had 8 kids at a time. This is a non-fiction book.

The second book is a novel. It has a dystopian, post -apocalyptic feel to it about end times as the Bible calls them and a ‘what if’ book about an explosion of one criminal element. It is a Sci-Fi but, with the direction the world is heading in- it could become reality.

Please enter the drawing and help me share my books with others. It costs you nothing and we will not be taking an e-mail for those that fear being put on a list. Once the names are drawn, we will post the winners on our website and winners can e-mail me with which book they want and the address to ship it to-simple.
